Don't Stop Teaching

You know how in the bible it says

"6 Train up a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

Let me tell you one thing it's so true. My mother in law and I were talking yesterday and I was telling her how my son likes listening to Christian music compared to some other kids out there. I'll also catch him singing songs that are playing on the radio not only that he loves to learn about the Bible. Yes my husband listens to rock, rap and Spanish every now and then and he will hear the beat and likes it but my point is I’m not going to let that get in my way of teaching him about Christ. I am just so proud of what I can see right now in the way my son is. I want to encourage you out there those of you who have children/grandchildren no matter
if their 5 like mine or 15 even an adult NEVER stop talking to them about God because that is what this world needs today more than anything.
You might say well what if I my kids are already grown and I taught them about God when they were small even took them to church and now they want nothing to do with God?
My answer to that is pray because God will remind them what they were taught and HE will bring them back to Him, it might not be in our time but It will be in HIS
timing.

Not Sure Where To Start

Yesterday I messaged a friend and asked her how she does her bible readings, if she had a bible plan or what? I told her I was struggling because I wasn't sure where to start. Mind you I've been a Christian for quite some time now and still have trouble reading the bible. So those of you out there who feel the same way you’re not alone! Well I was reading a devotional to my son and it came to mind what I had messaged my friend about (struggling because I wasn't sure where to start) well hello Salina! I'm reading scripture right now! Even though it’s a children’s devotional it's the best place to start. When you read Gods word there is no "best" place to start because no matter where you read He still has a message for you.

Being Thankful

I made breakfast for my son and I this morning it was egg tacos. While we were eating at the table I remembered this video on the 700 club I saw last night about a little girl who her parents didn't have enough money to buy food they were only able to afford one meal a day! Can you imagine that? Well the little girl would go to school hungry to where it was affecting her in ways that she wasn't able to do her school work because she was so hungry. Until someone told her mother about a people who could help, there at that place she was able to eat every meal she needed too. As I was telling my son this story He said "we have food stamps to buy food" (mind you yes we are on food stamps) and I told him yes but the little girl didn't have what we have that is why we pray every time before we eat and we should be thankful we have food because others out there don't.

Love and Respect

I have started reading this book called Love and Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. He has based his book on Ephesians 5:33 "33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband." I'm barely on chapter 3, ever since I started reading this book it has changed the way I think and feel about my husband. I use to wonder why he would act the way he does and why I react the way I do towards him when he makes me mad. I now realize that our husbands need respect because with out it they feel like nothing, and us wives need love but how are we suppose to get love from our husbands if we don't respect them?? The bible says in Ephesians 5:33 that the wife MUST respect her husband not only when she feels like it but all the time (MUST). There is more way more to the book that what I've just talked about, I just thought I'd share that with you what I am reading. Transforming Hearts

4 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Come close to me.”
When they had done so, he said, “I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt! Genesis 45:4

As I was reading these two Chapters this mid-morning Genesis 44:1 through 45:28 I was just in awe how Joseph forgave his brothers
after what they did to him. If it was me I'm not sure I could do that, well even now I have trouble forgiving others
for things that have happened in the past BUT I do know that God wants us to forgive them and we must do it because it's a command given from God.
If Joseph can we can too and imagine they sold him! Then lied to their father saying he was killed. Even though all this happened God was using this
for his glory and purpose. If you have more time, read Genesis 44:1 through 45:28 and ask God to help you forgive the person/people who did you wrong.
I know I know it's more easily said than done but with God’s help we can do it!

"The lost art of setting a table or simply saying grace...not necessarily to any deity if one doesn't chose but to simply give thanks.
The lost art of taking baked goods to a new neighbor, welcoming people into a neighborhood. The simple rituals and mannerisms of being polite. Whatever happened to those??"

I'm talking about what my grandmother talked about when she would mention growing up and what her parents, and there parents and so on and so forth. See we in America aren't about community anymore. You don't hear it in the new songs we sing, the movies we watch, and the books we read. A good example of this is George Bailey...It's A Wonderful Life....what happened to America? Where are our priorities gone with it comes to showing love with our neighbor, to want to build friendships with those that literally live right next door, at our jobs, and in our schools and colleges?
What about wanting to take time to bring someone new into our lives, and not just meet a quick need and go out the door, but actually allow these "people" to become dare I say....our friends.....so I'm wondering what does friendship mean in America today?

See this love thing and helping others should be so radical that it happens all year long...and to the point it become contagious.

I Can't Do This Anymore

This is just a few of my thoughts in my mind these last few months.....so I will start in the middle of them for now...

I wish some of these "church" people had the gift of "encouragement" as we really need someone to go beyond a prayer and act as God has called us all to do....see my grandmother who is now deceased, taught me not to just pray, but listen to the Lord to see if who I am praying for, that God Himself is usually calling me to help directly with my physical and verbal actions towards them. Just like Miranda's dad says "every time you point your finger at somebody you have 3 more pointing back at you." So I learned that God was really calling me to take action beyond just some words to Him......and I know many have NO IDEA what to do or say....as this isn't a NORMAL action to reach out to people you don't know. Or reach out to someone who is sick....see I didn't always act....I thought that was just the pastors job.....it took me years of growing up to realize that we are all called to be the hands and feet God has called us to be. This isn't meant to harm or criticize, but to give a look inside of my own brain in how I personally choose to act. As I know no one but me has these experiences, every one has their own path to follow.

So many times as a child, I FAILED to speak up to those in school, church, at my job etc. I learned the hard way that I wasn't showing my "Christian" love. See my own mom used to go to church before she died...she loved that song "They will know we are Christians by our Love"

I've never had it easy I know, and as I said before I do think differently.....

But, I feel again to apologize to those who I have hurt in my past, but keeping silent, not praying, not acting....it's my fault for not listening to God and moving forward.....getting out of our comfort zone is never easy....and these posts are putting me on the spot I know....so I ask you too for my forgiveness if I ever hurt you guys as well. You see someone stepped up into my life when I was outcast, poor, didn't have many clothes, lacked food, was very ill as a child, and even homeless...it wasn't a denomination, it wasn't a "church" it was individuals who came into my life and gave me purpose and showed me verses like Jeremiah 29:11.....a plan and a hope...and a future..well right now our very own Miranda wishes she was better off dead....because of the pain...the sickness...the loss she has suffered...being stuck at home....unable to play her drums.....go to "church" much less even drive her truck...it is found in these things that God is calling us all to be the hands and feet He has called us to be....because if not..what is gonna happen to my wife if we all don't step up and give ourselves...not to me...not even to her....but give ourselves to Jesus Christ fully....as a living sacrifice..willing to go to places we can't go on our own....and that place right now is right here in our home....reaching out to my wife and others in this community....see this town has been dark for way too long...and I am sick and tired of the seeing and hearing about people getting hurt....misplaced, outcast by Christians in our very own community.....the body of Christ needs to ask forgiveness to these homeless I've met...that many have just ignored....the sex trafficked woman that was raped by many in our city limits.....to the poor man living on the river bank to the families who can't feed their kids....this town needs Jesus Christ again...for us to be the salt of the Earth...to go beyond our comfort zone.and give our lives back to Christ....and then serve Him the rest of our days.....in the cities, the allies, the shelters, the outcast poor, sick stricken, smelly people who live on the streets...as EVERYONE needs a chance to see the Love of Christ.

You know....we the body of Christ are the ONLY Bible someone reads.......

I am sitting here on the couch...crying out to the Lord for our town....our churches....our people....who are in need.....right now there are people SLEEPING on the STREETS....babies going hungry...young and old who are sick and need an encouraging word....so what are we doing about it? Where is the workers of the harvest?

Is your heart right with the Lord if "the least of these" in Chillicothe, OH DIED tonight?!

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you;he will never let the righteous fall.

Do you realize that in a moment where you say, "I can't do this anymore...I don't know what to do or to say" it is in this moment that God can remove your pride, yourself...this old flesh out of the way for just a moment, and God can do AMAZING things through you. This is the act of worship Christ calls for us all. To be a living act of worship to Him in everything we do.....

On June 16th, we began a online fundraiser for a local Ohio family of 4. A young mother is in need of help to pay a over due electric bill of $449.22. She needs to have this bill paid in 10 days so that she can get moved into her new apartment. The reason she can't move in is because the Electric company won't allow her to move her and her children in to the new residence until this past bill is paid. The new apartment that is available for them is government housing and she has been on a waiting list for over a year to get this opportunity to have her own place and a home for her children. But if the past electric bill is not paid in 10 days she will lose her apartment and be placed back at the bottom of the waiting list and could wait another year before having a chance to get another apartment.

Within just a few hours of starting the online Fundraiser yesterday evening we raised $280.00

JMC Ministries is donating $100.00 plus covering the paypal fees from every donation given so the family will receive the full amounts. Along with this we received $60.00 in cash from an anonymous donor along with donations of $20.00 and $100.00 through donors on Paypal. And a local church has offered to pay the last $50.00 due when we have raised the rest of the money.

Then just a short while ago we received notice that we got another donation. We received a donation of $19.22 on paypal which now leaves us to raise exactly $100.00 to meet our goal to help this young mother and her children.

Funny Moments With The Caverley's "In A Pickle....Jar"

After 2 months of trying to open a pickle jar with no success, Jeremy and I ask my mother to see if she can open it? In less than 5 minutes, and taking a butter knife to the lid and popping the seal Jeremy was finally able to enjoy his pickles!

We were laughing so hard because, it made us think of the Cosby Show episode where Elvin Tells Clair that opening a jar of pickles is "a man's job" So Elvin tries to open the jar of pickles. He tries and tries and tries, and even gets down on his knees on the floor, but it's no use. Then Saundra comes in the kitchen and tells Elvin to let her try to open the jar of pickles. Saundra takes the pickles hits the bottom of jar, sets the jar on the counter and opens the jar of pickles without much effort! Clair then tells Saundra "thanks Saundra, you're a real Man!"

The question is "how many Caverley's does it take to open a jar of pickles?" Answer, "none, it takes the mother in-law to get the job done" LOL

Editor, the Gazette:
On Saturday, Staff Sgt. Joshua Gire -- who died on March 23 in Afghanistan -- was brought home one last time.
As the procession came through Chillicothe, my husband Jeremy and I stood along Western Avenue just outside our home and paid our respects. From the moment, I heard and saw the first police car sounding its sirens, tears began to flow down my face, and as the police cars and motorcyclists passed with American flags streaming behind them, you just knew this city permanently was scarred by the effects of the "war on terror" that has been raging for 10 years now.
Near the end of the procession, you could see the hearse carrying the body of Staff Sgt. Gire coming. My husband, as a veteran of the U.S Coast Guard, stood in salute, and I watched as the hearse slowly drove past. You could see the American Flag draped over the casket, then the limousine that carried Staff Sgt. Gire's family toward the funeral home.
How do you find the words to express the sorrow and pain a family must feel in the face of losing a son, father and husband? It can be described only in the tears that are shed for those who pay the ultimate price for freedom's call.
On Friday, his body will be taken to Arlington Cemetery to be buried, where another marker will be placed along with the thousands of others to remind us freedom isn't free.
May we never forget our freedoms are persevered through the sacrifices of others like Josh Gire. For without their bravery, we would not be able to call our country "the home of the free."

I was actually very shocked to see my article in print. I wrote this article to share on our Eternal Flame News Editorial Blog that Jeremy and I run. But after reading it to my Grandparents, my Grandpa told me that he thought that it was good enough to submit to the local Chillicothe Gazette newspaper.

With a hope and a prayer on my lips I submitted the article on Saturday April 8, 2011. Then today April 13, 2011 my Grandparents were visiting me and asked if I'd checked to see if they had maybe published my article. We looked at the Chillicothe Gazette online and there it was!

"I'm in print!" was what was going through my head and it was a dream come true! When I was in high school all my English Teachers told me I should go to college to study journalism. Now over 10 years later, I'm beginning to think that maybe, they were right.

Not only have I now been in print in our local paper, but I have also been invited to write news blogs for Active Christian Media. Jeremy and I will keep you posted when I start writing for Active Christian Media.

It is amazing what you can accomplish when you allow God to lead you and get your own fears and doubts out of the way. The impossible becomes possible!

We as Christian tend to feel at times the pressure of this world. Trying to live within it yet not of it as the Bible says. So how can we make the proper balance? Just like the two quotes above it is about a mindset that you don't stop and realize that we the body of Christ need each other to move forward. Yes, by grace we are saved, but still we need to depend on each other since we are the parts of something more than ourselves.

³ because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. ⁴ Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. ⁵ If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

So I highlighted a few phases in each Bible verses. Words such as faith, perseverance, glory, tribulations, and hope. How can all of these words in two different passages be connected? It is because each is part of a network of things that start in a physical/spiritual realm and end up in your life one way or the other.

Let's start with Romans, now Paul was being accused of just about anything they could throw at him and the same goes for the Book of James. These are the foundations of Christianity as we know it. A group of people who desire Jesus Christ in their lives even when the times not only get hard, but also when their life is at the line for it.

Now I have to pause and say, why can't we mimic this more in today society? As greed, power, lust, and the things of this world continue to get easier access into our homes, work, friends, and family, and everything in between, it is no wonder why this world is so dark. Yet, still Jesus Christ loves us and wants a relationship with us?!

How STRANGE can that be? It isn't. You see God sent his son to die for us, not only to give us eternal life. But to make our lives right here on the earth easier to deal with. While we continue to walk in our flesh, everything and anything can go wrong and it will. Yes even when you follow Christ, it could lead you to death, but as you read the stories of martyrs across the world in present day. Most of them will say, I did it for the cause of Christ. Now I do have to say the average person usually won't be persecuted until death, but you get the picture.

In my 30 years of life, I have been up and down many times, but I myself alone made the choice to continue. Because I saw the bigger picture. When life gets so busy you can't see anything but yourself, that is one way you set yourself up for a fall.

KEY THINGS to keep you on track:

1. Daily Bible readings that help you read the whole Bible or work through a part that assists you in what you need for each day.

2. Daily prayer-Forgiveness, Worship, Requests for others, Requests for yourself....in this order

3. Connect with your fellow Christians/finding an accountability partner

4. Attend Church

This list can go on and on if you like, but I will stick with these four for now. As you get older, the more medical check ups are required, the same goes for your walk with Christ. You can't be the "LONE RANGER" of Christianity and expect things to just work out for you. As you read the Word and pray it gives you the two way communication to not only learn about God, but also talk to Him, and if your patient enough "LISTEN" for His voice. Having friends in the body of Christ is most important so that you can keep each other accountable and still find people who can relate to you and have fun. This can be done online, in person, and at church. It might take some time, but you will find one soon enough.

So now back to the main topic: Do YOU still feel like giving up? Have you worked through the four steps? If there is a certain area in your life you can't find victory over it's time you tell someone else about your struggles. Keeping things bottled in is never a good thing. Find a pastor, minister or strong brother/sister in Christ you can trust and share with them what is going on.

Having an accountability partner is something Christians need to practice more often. Yes, having a daily prayer life is good, but you also need friends who can love you and care for your needs too.

Our Visit To "The Mission" Church In Piketon Ohio

Last night Jeremy and I visited "The Mission" Church in Piketon Ohio. We had been invited to come by the pastors wife after Jeremy connected with her on Facebook.

The first thing you notice when you walk into "The Mission" is that there is such a diverse age of people from young to old. And the Teens greeted us and welcomed us as we came through the front door. When the service began and the worship team got into place to start playing, the entire worship team we saw was comprised of Teens! Teens who have a heart to worship God through their talents. It brought tears to my eyes to see this because when I was a teenager at 15 playing drums for churches in the Ross County area, I was the only one my age playing any instrument for the church I attended. At times I felt very secluded from those my age and felt more of a connection with the older generations that I played music with. To see these young people playing Music for God blessed me beyond words.

After the praise and worship was over Pastor Michael Higgins brought the message for the evening. He shared how we as the church need to get back to basics and really start reading the gospels of the new testament and remember how Jesus lived and start living like Jesus did. Stop depending on the Government to help the people in need, and getting out in the streets to reach the drug addicts, homeless, the sick and poor. Pastor Mike also shared about some of the ministry outreach the church is doing to help the community of Piketon, Waverly, Lucasville, and Portsmouth Ohio. One of the most poignant things he said was, If you aren't serious about coming to this church and don't have a heart to get out there and help the community then don't come to this church! He also said that when you choose to give your life to Jesus and desire to live as Jesus did, you will be spiritually attacked like you have never before. Pastor Mike Higgins then shared about how many of our brothers and sisters in Christ are persecuted through out the world just for believing in Jesus. He also shared a bit of his testimony how he had been a musician in a band, had everything he wanted but got caught up in drugs, drinking etc. Until one day God got a hold of his life and changed him forever.

Just before Pastor Mike Higgins closed the service he asked if there was anyone sick and needed prayer and anointing for healing. Many came forward to be prayed for and I was one of them. After nearly 2 years of fighting with the STAPH/MRSA Sores that keep coming back every 2-4 months and my stomach problems both which doctors have told me that they can do nothing to heal me. I felt lead to have this church pray for me. Young and old came forward to be prayed for some from physical ailments, some from emotional, mental and the Holy Spirit showed up. I felt a love from the people of this little mission church I had not felt in a long time after being sick for the past month and being shut in at home not able to go attend a church, and that love was the love of Christ!

After the service was over we introduced ourselves to Pastor Mike Higgins and his wife. They were so happy we had come to visit and for the next 2 hours we sat with Mike talking, sharing about our ministry and how we have been looking for a church that does the kind of outreach he is doing to try and help the drug addicts, homeless and the at risk youth of the community. Mike also shared with us of the work he and the church have been doing and how they came to found "The Mission".

At the end of the night Mike invited us to come back to his church on Sunday to see how they reach out to the youth of the community and really make their Sunday morning service for the youth and after, they feed them a hot meal before they send them home. Because many of the children come from homes where the parents sell their food stamps to buy drugs and so the children are hungry. And it's not just the children there are adults that are struggling to make ends meet and giving them a hot meal helps them as well.

So tomorrow we will be heading back to Piketon Ohio to fellowship with the people of "The Mission" and continue to pray that God guide and direct us to the church he wants us to go. So that we may be a helping hand in the body of Christ.

We ask you to pray for "The Mission" church in Piketon Ohio as they continue to reach out to the community and share the Love of Christ.

JMC Ministries Cousin Elizabeth Cobb Gets $123,760 Scholarship To NC Wesleyn College

South Central Student Receives Highest Scholarship Award in College’s History

February 28, 2011 - South Central High School’s senior student, Elizabeth Cobb was presented with the highest scholarship award offered to a student by NC Wesleyan College on Monday, February 28^th.

NC Wesleyan presented Cobb with a complete full-ride scholarship. In the past, NC Wesleyan has awarded students with scholarships that cover their tuition, but for the first time they are giving Cobb a scholarship that covers tuition and room and board for all four years. The total for the scholarship amounts to $123,760.

Cobb had no prior knowledge of being selected for this award. She was taken from class to a conference room where her mother Noelle Cobb was waiting, along with her senior guidance counselor, friends that were pulled from class, a few teachers and her Youth Group leaders. She was presented with the award by NC Wesleyan Admissions Counselor Ben Lilley.

“She was totally shocked and humbled by it,” said Cobb’s senior guidance counselor Laura Mulkey. “She was so excited it brought tears to her eyes.”

Cobb plans on majoring in physical therapy when she attends NC Wesleyan, with a minor in psychology.

“I think it is fabulous for Pitt County and South Central,” said Mulkey. “They have never given a scholarship of this caliber. It’s great to see it at South Central. We are so proud of her.”

North Carolina Wesleyan is a four-year coeducational, liberal arts college, with a number of preprofessional programs, founded in 1956. It is related to the United Methodist Church.

Elizabeth Cobb is Miranda's Cousin and we are very proud of her accomplishments. We pray that God blesses her as she sets out on her journey at NC Wesleyan College. Congratulations Elizabeth!

But now things are tough for this missionary in Louisana. She has been having a hard time finding work and raising money for her own ministry that she feels God is calling her into.

She is working at a cleaning business http://thecleaningladiesbr.blogspot.com/ in Louisana but it isn't covering all of her bills as she is currently looking for other work.

So we at JMC Ministries want to again ask our online community to step up and assist another fellow missionary in need.

Over $2,500 Raised For Colorado Family In Need

For the past 6 days we have been raising funds to help Avalon Dewitt and her family in Colorado to try and keep them from being evicted from their home and facing homeless. Avalon and her husband came to us asking for help nearly a week ago. Her husband is self employed and has his own business, he does construction work and odd jobs working on peoples home and appliances. Due to the bad economy and also it being the winter season work there just has not been enough work to help pay the bills. During the Spring, Summer and Fall season they are able to make enough money to make ends meet. But this winter has been especially hard on them.

So JMC Ministries started an online campaign to try and raise 2,300 dollars to pay their back rent, late fees, and also court costs. Through generous donations from us at JMC Ministries, people across the U.S and other Countries on Sunday January 30, 2011 we raised over 2,500 dollars for the family more than enough to keep them in their home.

We give all the praise to God for with out him none of this would have been possible. When we first started this fundraiser we stated that we want you to pray about whether you should give to help before you make a decision and ask God what he wants you to do in this matter. Many felt led to give and we are thankful that God is still working miracles today, for that is truly what this is. In our own power we could NOT have raised this money only by the leading of the holy spirit and the Lords Guidance has this need been met.

JMC Ministries is grateful to all those who have prayed, and given to help this family. As we always say JMC Ministries (Jeremy and Miranda Caverley) are just 2 little people trying to make a difference one person at a time and one family at a time.

Mother Teresa Said it best, "if you can't feed 100 people, then just feed one" and that is one of our life quotes for our Ministry.

Jeremy, your letter really touched me. I'm sorry I've been such a worry wart. Please forgive me. This has been a lesson to me. I know better, in my head. I guess I'm learning it in my heart. I'm just so thankful I haven't had to walk through this alone. Having people who care rallying around me like this means more than any amount of money, or any home, or ANY material thing that can be seen or touched. Seeing the love of Jesus shine through others.... well, the Bible talks about the riches of Christ, and now I see what that means.

It's not about how much money people can give. It's about loving them enough to make their problems your own. That is what has been done for me, and I pray that I will do that for others from now on.

You do know how it is. You seem to really understand the pain and the emotional challenges in reaching out for help like this. The unsettling experience of letting yourself come under public scrutiny - this has not been easy for me and I have shed many, many tears, because as you know, people don't always scrutinize with fairness or love.

But the love that HAS been shown to me and my family through this has simply blown me away. I am humbled and very blessed to be so. And my faith has increased because as I look at this love, I see the face of Jesus and it's just overwhelming.

Wow, Jeremy. I had no idea how powerful your ministry was. I mean, I knew you had a good thing going on there, but now that I've been touched by it in such a personal way, I'm just blown away. You and Miranda are jewels in God's kingdom. Shining jewels. I can't wait to see what glorious rewards you will receive someday.

Online Community Comes Through For Couple In West Virginia

The past 4 days we have been in contact with a lady from West Virginia who was in need of a warm place to sleep and 200 dollars to pay off her electric bill so it could be turned back on. She and her husband had been staying with a friend but Saturday December 11th was the last day they were able to stay there. That night this lady contacts us while we were at a Christmas Concert with some friends.

Jeremy got up during the concert and stood in the rain to talk with this lady and try to find her a hotel room to stay at. But due to being in a bad area for cellphone service we lost contact with her. After the concert when we got home, she had left a voice mail stating she was sitting at a restaurant waiting for her husband to get off work but they didn’t know where they would sleep for the night. She had earlier been staying at her home heating with a kerosene heater but the fumes became too much and she felt it was not safe to run the heater and stay at the home that night.

She talks to Jeremy for quite a while on the phone and so at 11:30 P.M. Saturday night we sent out a post on our facebook, twitter and myspace asking if people could just donate 20cents. If every person on Jeremy’s friends list would donate 20 cents apiece to help pay on this lady’s electric bill, it would be paid.
Within moments we had people from all over the country responding asking how they could donate. We asked them to click the “donate” button on our JMC Ministries Website. In just 3 hours we had raised all the funds we needed! And this in the middle of the night! We donated 50 dollars towards the 200 dollars needed and $150.77 was raised by our online community of followers! Not just this but someone in West Virginia got ahold of this lady and put her and her husband up in a hotel room for 2 nights!

So Sunday December 12, 2010 with our 200 dollars raised we called the electric company provider in West Virginia and paid on their electric bill for them. The bill is 400 dollars but she has been told that she can get assistance with half of the bill. So hopefully today her electric will be turned back on.
But none of this could have happened without our online community of friends. One man who gave a donation wrote us later last night saying “When I gave money yesterday to help the woman find a place to stay in the cold winter of WV, I started to give a particular amount. Then I felt led to give a larger amount. I paused, then decided to do it. God will provide, I thought. Earlier today, I was going through yesterday's mail that I hadn't had a chance to look at yet and I was opening it and discovered two Christmas cards. One had a check in it and another had some cash. The total was MORE than that original amount I had first thought about giving. God DID provide!”

Sometimes it is hard to decide when we should help others, but if we just pray for discernment and listen for God’s voice he will tell us what to do. Because this man made himself available for God to use him, he received a blessing in return and confirmation that God was in the middle of this whole thing. When we make ourselves available for God, Miracles happen.

We thank you all for your prayers and financial support through this entire journey. Words really cannot express our appreciation for your help.
