This song/video is dedicated to my grandpa "Poppy" Rex Fannin who passed away on January 24, 2020. This was one of my Poppy's favorite songs I have sung, and knowing we only had a few weeks left with him, I recorded this song. But sadly my Poppy went downhill faster than we expected and passed away before he could listen to this song.
The Wayfaring Stranger was the last song I recorded before his death and I pray God lets him hear this song. My Poppy was a very talented musician who could play many different instruments and could also sing. He passed that gift on to me. My Poppy was also a minister, he preached the gospel and gave his life to helping others and sharing the love of Jesus for over 50 years before his health became too bad for him to continue preaching and singing and playing music.
I pray that this song blesses all who hear it and that the video inspires you because we all are that "wayfaring stranger" and I pray that if you do not know Jesus as your personal Savior that you will come to repentance of your sins and start a relationship with Jesus Christ, get into a gospel believing and preaching church, and cling to Jesus and his nail scarred hands and He will walk with you through this world to the very end.
